One of the most dramatic partial solar eclipses seen from the UK in decades. The maximum of the eclipse fell with the Sun low near the western horizon, turning the crescent a deep sunset orange rather than the usual white-on-black.
I was very determined to capture the full event, recorded video, from my Seestar. My partner flagged a real good spot, just up the road from our house. I made sure the Seestar and my power bank was charged, bought some snacks and drinks from the shop nearby and made my way over to the site an hour early to setup. We could see Sidmouth and the Normal Lockyer Observatory in the distance and found a well protected spot from the wind.
Next time, I’ll have a solar filter for my Askar 71F.
